The "Score Board" records the gross counts of our progress to-date. It was last updated August 2007.
- Nominal Species Records: number of instances in the "Nominal Species" table of the MUSSEL Project Database, including available names, spelling errors, mis-identifications, nude names and a few fossils.
- Available Species Names: "Nominal Species" records less those marked in the database as unavailable or fossil.
- Species Taxonomic Opinions: number of instances in the the table of the same name. The references from which opinions have been harvested are listed on the Progress page.
- Valid Species: count of the number of instances in the "Valid Species" table, based on the various taxonomic opinions. Note: at the time of compiling the Score Board, the valid species table contained about 100 "Valid" Russian species derived from the "Comparatorial" method of Starobogatov.
- Nomina Dubia: count of the number of available instances in the "Nominal Species" table that have not been assigned to a "Valid Species."
- Valid Genera: count of the number of instances in the "Valid Genera" table.
